Volluma Hair Thickener

Dale Denison  //  Hi! My name is Dale Lorna Denison.

I have a relatively mild case of thinning hair and, as a woman (yes, this “Dale” is female), it sucks. I know how lousy it makes me feel and I can only imagine the emotional pain women with more severe problems must endure.

When I’m out in public and see a woman with thin hair (the kind you can see right through), my heart just aches for her, especially the young and pretty ones with their whole lives ahead of them! It’s just plain unfair that women, who put so much value on their hair along with time and effort to make it look good, have so many potential causes of thinning hair and so few solutions to fix it.

I have tried many different hair styles over the years to try and hide my thinning areas and you can check out the FREE Hair Style Guide (link below) for amazing professional salon grade styling tips for your hair. But styling doesn’t always work in every situation. In fact, it was during one of these times when I was wearing my hair short and spikey, I realized no amount of styling would cover up my scalp. That was when I discovered the German hair thickening spray - Volluma. The results were so impressive, so personally life-altering that I bought the company, so to speak!

Actually, what I did was start a company distributing Volluma to help North American women feel better about themselves. I love how well it works for women with thinning hair and there’s absolutely nothing like the fantastic feeling I get when a new customer calls to tell me how positively Volluma affected the way she feels about herself. It makes all the effort so worthwhile!

My goal is to reach as many women as I can and to help them through the tough times with real solutions that make them look and feel better about themselves. Through this blog I will share with you, information on women’s hair loss issues, the opinions of experts and additionally, I will bring you the scoop on current surgical, medical, and cosmetic products and techniques to help you look your best.

Please ask me any questions you want on your hair loss and, through my network of top Hair Transplant Surgeons, Dermatologists, Hair Stylists and Hair Systems Providers, I will get you answers - that is my commitment to you. Feel free to make comments, post questions or even just to talk about what you are going through.

I have a big heart and am a great listener. I look forward to blogging with the many beautiful women out there suffering from this terrible condition.

Today Show video: Post-it notes help women feel beautiful

I think this says it all.  Post-it notes help women feel beautiful.  I think that as women with issues like thinning hair, we tend to be very hard on ourselves.  We have to look in the mirror and see ourselves as beautiful women inside and out.  Our hair does not define who we are, what is in our hearts does.  If we can help each other out it can be a wonderful boost to our own self esteem and hopefully to the ones we are helping.  Let’s give this a try and get posting.

Blogger Caitlin Boyle is trying to start a revolution by spreading the word on positive body image, one Post-it note at a time, saying “a random message from a stranger can do a lot.”

Simple Hair Loss Solutions

I know there really isn’t a simple solution to hair loss but I found these tips that I thought  might help if you have the question, “ How do I make my hair thicker and healthier?”.

1.      Proper/Nourishing Diet.

Ingredients that contribute to good health are also great for your hair.  Some of these would include healthy proteins and which have reduced carbs and fat content.  Fish, soy, Canola oil and also walnuts have essential fatty acids which have important nutrients to help in proper hair development.  Omega-3 fatty acids can also help your hair.

Make sure your iron is maintained so that it doesn’t result in anemia.  This can result in a reduced source of blood to your hair which can trigger hair thinning.  Foods high in iron are brewer’s yeast, liver and broccoli.   Meat, eggs and chicken are also great foods for the hair due to their Vitamin B12 content.  Another B supplement that is vital for your hair is biotin.  Biotin supplements are often prescribed by your doctor along with other medications of choice with regard to thin hair, such as Proscar and Minoxidil. Biotin is not only good for your hair, but it can also benefit your skin and nails.

2.      Herbs

Saw Palmetto works like Finasteride that inhibits activity involving the hair loss which causes androgens in the hair follicles.  Women of all ages should not use palmetto without speaking to their doctors first.  Green tea extract can help decrease any testosterone in a woman’s system, which can prevent periodic hormonal activity which is responsible for some occurrences of thinning hair.  Sage tea along with apple cider vinegar can be applied to your scalp to help promote hair growth.  Horsetail is a great source of silica which is an important element of healthy growing hair.  Women with hereditary or health related thinning hair shouldn’t be afraid of using proper hair products but a good suggestion would be to consult your hairstylist for the best products for your specific hair.

If this article helps only one person, even that is a good thing.  Take care of yourself and I look forward to any feedback.  Please make sure you always check with your doctor before trying anything new.

I wish more women would ask their Doctors

When Hair Loss Strikes, a Doctor Is a Girl’s Best Friend http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/16/health/16patient.html

This article just re-enforced my thoughts that if you see a change in your hair, or anything in your body, go see your doctor.  Instead of wasting your time on the internet researching a self diagnosis or buying products that say they can re-grow your hair, please start out by seeing your family doctor or a specialist to find out what the underlying problem really is.

I lost both my parents and my dear brother all within 2 years and you can imagine what a shock that was to my system.  I saw a real change in my hair and after consulting my doctor she said that I had gone through more than my share of stress and that it would thicken up after things settled down.

It has been almost 2 years since my brother’s death and my life is getting back to normal and so is my hair.  If I hadn’t asked my doctor I would not have known what was causing my thinning hair.

This article has a lot of good information and I hope it helps.

This has helped me visualize helping thousands of people look good and free great and it is coming true.  And, because of this, I am working with a personal trainer and I have found that hot chick again that has been hidden for years. Ask The Angels

I wanted to share an amazing story of something that happened to me today. I was working out with my fantastic personal trainer Sam and at the end of my session he told me that one of his clients had lost her diamond ring. All I could think was how devastating that would be if I lost my ring, which was left to me by my mother. As I was leaving the gym of scanned the sidewalk and roadway, noticing all the leaves and thinking that the ring could be under any one of them. I got into the car and sat there thinking again how awful that would be and remembered something a friend told me. She told me that we all have angels that watch over us and if there was something you really needed help with, like finding a ring, just ask your angels. I wasn’t sure if I should go back in a tell Sam this but decided, what the heck. So back I go. I told Sam that I didn’t know how his client would take this but to just ask her angels to help her. Sam just smiled and said I’ll e-mail her right now and tell her what you said. As I walked out the door and took one step down onto the sidewalk OH MY GOSH there it was. I bent down picked it up, looked into the window where Sam was sitting and held it up, with a huge smile on my face. When I went back into the gym all I could say was “How cool was that”. Sam said he had goose bumps and he said that was just downright spooky. Sam and I actually had tears in our eyes when we looked at each other. All we could do was smile at each other. I’m still in awe of what happened. I have the warmest feeling in my heart right this minute. The whole time I was walking to my car all I could think of was how I desperately wanted to find this ring for this woman. I cannot tell you what an amazing feeling it was to look down and see it. I know I had looked in that spot when I had left the gym the first time. So from now on, always remember when you think there is no other place to go, just ask your angels for help.  What a wonderful day this has been.

Making a difference to a lady in distress...

Sharon’s shiny new confidence and the look of sheer joy on her face had to be the high-light for me as an exhibitor at the National Women's Show.

It is one of many fond memories I have of Volluma making a difference in the world and it's what makes my job so rewarding and so much fun!

Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer about 10 years horribly enough, right after her husband unexpectedly died. As a grief stricken young mother she underwent chemotherapy and as you might expect, she lost her hair.

Now, anyone who’s familiar with chemotherapy knows that, oddly enough, the hair that re-grows after recovery may sometimes be different than what was there to start with. Thankfully, Sharon fully recovered but the problem was, her hair grew back thin and sparse, a terrible reminder every time she looked into the mirror of the cancer she had survived!

When I met Sharon as a fellow exhibitor at a the show where I was demonstrating Volluma; she had resolved, for the rest of her life, to wear the one hairstyle that hid her thinning areas. Luckily, when passing by our booth, she noticed several of the dramatic transformations taking place and decided to step up to the plate and submit herself to a demonstration.

After a brief assessment, proper colour selection and short application, I handed Sharon a mirror to inspect the results. You can imagine my horror when I saw her tears. But before I could figure out what to do next, she looked at me and smiled and I realized then that they were tears of joy! All she could sputter was how happy she was and that this was an incredible day for her.  She was absolutely amazed at how great Volluma had made her hair look and feel.

For the next two mornings of the show, Sharon stopped by our booth to show us the different hair styles she had been able to wear since discovering Volluma.  She said she had lived with her old “comb-over” hair style for the last 10 years and this was so exciting for her.

The show was a big success for us, but the best part of it was Sharon’s smiling, confident face – it will be with me forever!

Look good. Feel great!

The 6 Hair Mistakes that Age You Most...

If you have the Volluma guide “10 Styling Secrets for Women with Thinning Hair” you’ll recognize  the “mistakes” in this Good Housekeeping article as Volluma Tip 5 through Tip 9.

If you don’t have the Volluma guide, you can get it now from the sidebar, or on Dale’s blog http://vollumaforwomen.com/blog/

In the Good Housekeeping article titled “Take 10 Years Off Your Hair” it suggests a couple of shampoos and conditioners that will work to help “pump up the volume” of your hair as much as 9%.

As well as these temporary products work at the molecular level in your hair, many women with more than 50% hair loss get additional help with Volluma.

While we recommend the application of just enough Volluma to make your hair look full and natural, that small amount will more than double the effective diameter of your hair shafts.

“Take 10 Years Off Your Hair” is great article you must read – get it here http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/hair/younger-looking-hair
